Our Work
The transformation of the Emergency Department at Canmore General Hospital
Our largest-ever fundraising effort, aimed at revitalizing the Emergency Department of the Canmore General Hospital, has exceeded expectations. Initially targeting $2.2 million, the $4.4-million project is a joint effort with the Government of Alberta and Alberta Health Services. Thanks to generous donors and a transformative contribution from the local Hueckroth family, we've not only met but surpassed our goal in record time. The long-overdue upgrades to the hospital, built in 1984, promise a best-in-class facility for staff, optimal care for community members and visitors, and an enhanced experience for patients, staff, and families. With the project already underway and the renovated Emergency Department set for completion this year, this success is just the beginning. This territory is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, within the historical Northwest Métis homeland.
