We have one of the lowest wait times for Emergency care in the Province. Residents and visitors who use our ER receive uncompromised, compassionate care from our well trained medical staff. An ultrasound machine was purchased in 2010 that provides fast access for intravenous therapy in life-threatening situations. It also aids in the diagnosis and treatment of abdominal symptoms and the machine is fast becoming the standard of care for ER’s in Canada. Mindfulness Program- Meditation and Yoga for Stress

Since 2009 the Canmore and area Health Care Foundation has funded 8 week Mindfulness programs every Spring and Fall. The programs introduce individuals to meditation and yoga to help one manage everyday stressors and improve their overall health. Benefits may include improved sleep, decreased stress, enhanced ability to cope with pain, reduction in the use of medication, an improved immune system and less anxiety. Outdoor Fitness Circuit

The Adult Outdoor Fitness Circuit at Centennial Park in Canmore was opened on Thursday, July 7th from 10am to 2pm. The ceremonies, featuring Wild Rose MP Blake Richards and Mayor Ron Casey was attended by approximately 50 people...many of whom donated to the Fitness Circuit through either the Canmore Seniors' Association, Meanderthals Hiking Group, or Canmore Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. We are grateful for all the support to enhance Preventative Health in Canmore!
