The Canmore and Are Health Care Foundation supports and assists the Canmore General Hospital in fulfilling its’ needs that are not currently available through Alberta Health Services through the raising of funds and management of capital. In addition, we support programs such as you will see on the following pages. We wish to assist the Hospital and the very dedicated staff provide the best healthcare possible to all residents in it’s service area as well as visitors to our beautiful part of the world. Our purchases are initiated by request from the Hospital. Donation funds directed to a specific area or program will only be used to purchase for that area.

– 2012-2013 the Emergency Room saw approximately 15,000 patients. For 2013-2014 we are on target to see approximately 16,000 patients.
– We have 9 stretchers, including a 2 bed trauma room, cast room, eye examination room.
– 24 hour on-site physician coverage
– We have an e-simulation program co-ordinated with Calgary to provide hands on learning opportunities for staff
– We have a 24 hr/ 365 day ambulance service with a paramedic coverage at all times.
– We are working to collaborate with  EMS personnel to integrate their skills and assistance in the ER when our ER is busy
– Helipad for STARS helicopter
– We are installing a decontamination unit in the ambulance bay to better manage any chemical decontamination required.
