Emergency Department Revitalization Project:

Our Capital Campaign for Emergency Department (ED) Revitalization surpassed expectations, raising $2.2 million in community investments toward our $4.4 million goal. This transformative endeavour will modernize the Canmore General Hospital's ED, addressing critical needs such as enhancing patient privacy, improving triage capabilities, accommodating advanced technology, and providing better workspaces for medical staff. Your support is propelling us towards a state-of-the-art facility that ensures top-tier care for our dynamic community. This is a historical project for the Foundation and our entire community. With the renovation underway, Canmore’s new Emergency Department is on track for completion by the end of 2024.

Revitalized Endoscopy Suite:

Introducing Canmore General Hospital's cutting-edge Endoscopy Suite, a transformative addition to our medical facilities. Thanks to a generous combined donation from Origin at Spring Creek and The Canmore Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, this $20,000 project has brought state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to our hospital. The suite's relocation within the hospital, along with enhancements such as improved lighting, cabinetry, and updated IT equipment, ensures that Bow Valley residents have access to expanded endoscopy services. This development marks a significant step forward in enhancing healthcare delivery and improving patient outcomes for our community.

Revitalized Staff Rooms:

Your contributions to the Facility Upgrades Fund revitalized staff rooms, creating inviting and comfortable spaces where healthcare professionals can recharge and connect with colleagues. With an investment of $50,000, we transformed staff rooms into sanctuaries of respite, fostering a positive work environment and promoting staff well-being. These revitalized spaces have had a ripple effect on patient care, as refreshed and rejuvenated staff members are better equipped to deliver exceptional care with compassion and empathy.

Feels Like Home Long Term Care Project:

With a total investment of $1,500,000, donations to the Facility Upgrades Fund supported the Feels Like Home Long Term Care Project, transforming long-term care facilities into warm, homelike environments for residents. This transformative project has had a profound impact on the quality of life for long-term care residents, providing them with a comfortable and dignified living environment that promotes well-being and independence. By creating a nurturing and supportive atmosphere, we've enhanced the overall experience for residents and their families, fostering a sense of belonging and community within our long-term care facilities.

Renovated Labour and Delivery Rooms:

Enhanced labour and delivery rooms at the Canmore General Hospital meant more than just a convenient location for expecting families in our community—it is a deeply personal journey enriched by the hospital's commitment to excellence in maternity care. The Foundation's investment in renovating the labour and delivery rooms, totalling $750,000, has expanded the unit from two to four beds, ensuring that all expectant mothers receive the same level of privacy and comfort during childbirth. With your support, we've created modern, private spaces equipped with state-of-the-art birthing equipment, including infant warming units, birthing beds, and fetal monitoring technology. These upgrades have not only improved patient satisfaction but also enhanced the delivery of maternity care services, contributing to healthier outcomes for mothers and babies alike.

Expanded Cancer Care Services:

In 2008, the Foundation embarked on a mission to transform the Canmore General Hospital's cancer care unit—a journey that would redefine the standard of care for cancer patients in our community. With an initial estimate of $1 million for renovations, the Foundation rallied support from across the Bow Valley, receiving donations large and small from individuals and staff groups alike. Thanks to the generosity of donors like Guy Turcotte, who pledged to match funds up to $500,000, the Foundation exceeded its fundraising goal in just eight months. The renovated Bow Valley Cancer Care Clinic, completed in 2010, offers a larger, more comfortable space with picturesque mountain views—a testament to our community's commitment to providing quality cancer care close to home.
